John Perumal, chair of La Sierra University’s biology department, co-authored and published a book this summer titled Nature’s Remedies Made Simple. The 143-page volume, printed by Sirivatana Interprint Public Company Limited in Bangkok, Thailand, provides in simple terms and colorful photographs the types of plants that can be used for treating 50 different illnesses and health issues. Joy Kurian, dean of the faculty of science at Asia-Pacific International University in Thailand, wrote and published the book with Perumal.
The authors note in their preface that there is greater acceptance today of back-to-the-basics perspectives on health and alternatives for staying healthy. “We wanted to put together a book that will help anyone who wants to try using simple plant products in treating or just dealing with ailments,” the authors say.
