Drama program Presents First Children’s Theater

La Sierra University’s new Drama Appreciation service-learning class gave a special treat to Riverside elementary students in the program’s first Children’s Theater presentation on December 5. About 130 fourth grade students from Phillip M. Stokoe Elementary School attended the production of plays written by La Sierra students and based on their favorite children’s books. The plays, performed in Matheson Hall. were titled “Sitting Ducks,” “The Three Little Pigs,” “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” “Laura in Littleland,” and “Zabbit.” Sixteen La Sierra students starred in the productions. The children later wrote thank you notes illustrated with their own drawings. One note read, “Dear students of the university, I liked the play and my favorite one was three little pigs because I like the wolf getting mad.”
